Bachelor's
Bachelor in Civil Engineering (BCE) in Nepal – Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University
Bachelor in Civil Engineering (BCE) is a four-year, eight-semester degree run by Tribhuvan University's Institute of Engineering across 151 credit hours. It covers structures, geotechnics, hydraulics and hydrology, surveying, transportation and construction management, with substantial laboratory, drawing and fieldwork including a survey camp, three electives and a final-year project and internship. Admission is by rank on the IOE entrance examination, and the degree leads to the engineering registration route that science and applications degrees do not. Curriculum shown follows IOE's 2080 batch structure.

- Academic qualification: 10+2 Science or an equivalent recognised by Tribhuvan University, generally requiring at least a C grade in each subject or second division under the percentage system.
- Entrance examination: the IOE BE and BArch entrance is compulsory and is the only route in. One national merit list decides both the campus and the fee category offered.
- Fee category: your rank determines whether you are offered a regular or a full-fee seat at the same campus, and the difference in cost is several times over.
- Professional registration: as an engineering degree, BCE opens the Nepal Engineering Council registration route, which matters for design sign-off, consultancy and engineer-designated public posts. Confirm current requirements with the council.
- Confirm the current structure and seat allocation against the IOE admission notice for your cycle.
